David Ortiz, noted Cardinal Fan Favorite, perpetual slow starter, and star of an outstanding commercial that he did not appear in, won the 2010 Home Run Derby Monday night, hitting 11 home runs in the final round to beat National League champ Hanley Ramirez.
Both finalists ended the second round with 21 home runs, making this the rare Derby in which the eventual champion wasn’t overshadowed by a first round hero.
