Tyler Greene Replaces Fernando Salas On Roster; Ryan Ludwick Likely To Hit DL Tomorrow

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting a roster shakeup that involves both reliever Fernando Salas and injured outfielder Ryan Ludwick.

Salas, who has made several trips between St. Louis and Memphis, most recently joining the Cardinals’ roster on June 29, has been optioned back to AAA and will be replaced by shortstop Tyler Greene, who will start tonight against the Brewers. Greene has played in 10 games in 2010, and was hitting .291/.362/.465 with seven home runs and 10 stolen bases for the AAA Memphis Redbirds.

Ryan Ludwick has missed six games with a calf strain that’s been reaggravated twice; he’s likely to be replaced tomorrow by an outfielder, perhaps Allen Craig or Jon Jay.
