According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Walt Jocketty, erstwhile mastermind behind the 2004 MV3 Cardinals, has offered Jason Isringhausen a chance to pitch with the Reds.
↵↵↵The Reds offered right-hander Jason Isringhausen a contract after seeing him pitch today at Great American.
↵"We're waiting to hear back from his agent to see what he wants to do," Walt Jocketty said. "We'll know in next day or so."
↵Isringhausen was impressive in his session. But he'll need time to get ready.
↵
Isringhausen had elbow surgery last season after making nine appearances for the Tampa Bay Rays.
↵Some future Cincinnati Reds trade rumors—today!:
↵↵
- ↵
- With the emergence of Corey Hart and the Brewers' fall from the top of the NL Central, Jim Edmonds is rumored to be available as the trade deadline draws near. ↵
- Edgar Renteria is hitting .301 with the Giants, but they might be willing to talk deal if the Padres pull further ahead of them. ↵
- Cal Eldred is severely underutilized on the Fox Sports Midwest pregame show, and could probably be lured back to the mound with a league-minimum deal. ↵
- Larry Walker probably isn't that busy. ↵
