St. Louis Cardinals Eliminated From Playoff Contention In Pittsburgh

Stay connected for news and updates

The St. Louis Cardinals were officially eliminated from playoff contention Tuesday night, following a 7-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates and a walk-off Cincinnati Reds victory. The Cardinals failed to capitalize on early opportunities against Pirates left-hander Brian Burres, and fittingly brought utility infielder Aaron Miles in for his third consecutive scoreless inning to close out the game.

Jeff Suppan fell to 2-8 on the season.
