The 2011 Pro Bowl wasn't really a score-dependent affair—this time, it did not count, in baseball parlance—but the NFC and MVP DeAngelo Hall will certainly take a 55-41 win over the AFC Pro Bowlers. The St. Louis Rams' lone representative, Steven Jackson, had six carries for 33 yards and one of the team's innumerable touchdowns; he also caught one pass for 11 yards. Matt Ryan was the sharpest skill player, going 9-for-13 for 118 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.
Here's a bittersweet note for Kansas City Chiefs fans: Jamaal Charles finally led his own team in rushing attempts! And it was in the Pro Bowl! Thomas Jones could not be reached for comment, but the Chiefs' yards-per-carry machine took 10 carries for 72 yards and a touchdown.
This game was everything people expect out of a Pro Bowl, aside from a Ram having a big part in it—a ton of interceptions, some really bolt-upright running, and two defense that looked like they were reaching for flags most of the afternoon. I'm just not sure there's a way to a workable NFL All-Star game; maybe this is as close as it gets.
