NCAA Basketball 2011: How Far Will Missouri Leap In Rankings?

The Missouri Tigers have an outside shot at being ranked in the top 10 after two impressive victories in Kansas City.

After steamrolling Notre Dame and California, the latter of which is considered by many to be the best team in the Pac-12, in two consecutive nights, it's safe to say that Missouri fans are getting increasingly comfortable with new head coach Frank Haith. This wasn't initially the case though when Haith was plucked from Miami, where he led the Hurricanes to one NCAA Tournament in his six seasons there. But, as they say, winning cures everything.

The next big opponent on Mizzou's schedule is the Villanova Wildcats, who the Tigers will take on in Madison Square Garden on Dec. 6. For now, the big question is how high the Tigers will jump in the rankings after their impressive victories this week. SB Nation's Mike Rutherford thinks that Tigers look good enough to be ranked in the top 10, and they likely have an outside shot at that. Mizzou will almost certainly jump into the top 15 though, especially with teams ahead of them like Michigan, Kansas and Florida already picking up losses on the year.

The Tigers next game is on Sunday in Columbia against the winless Binghamton Bearcats.
