Week 17 NFL Picks: CBS Sports Thinks 49ers Lock Up No. 2 Seed In NFC Against Rams

The St. Louis Rams are 2-13 and have lost six games in a row heading into NFL action in Week 17, while the San Francisco 49ers are 12-3 and looking to lock up a first-round bye in the NFC playoffs. There is very little reason to think the Rams will come out an match the intensity or execution of a very good 49ers team with more than ample motivation to play well, so experts are understandably down on the Rams' chances.

The five-man panel at CBS Sports has released picks for Week 17, and all five experts believe the Rams will lose the season finale. Pete Prisco explained his prediction that the Rams will close out the season on a seven-game losing streak like this:

The 49ers can lock up the No. 2 seed in the NFC with a victory here. They are playing consecutive road games in the division, which can be tough, but the Rams don't do enough on offense to beat them. The 49ers defense will be suffocating against the Rams. They take the No. 2 seed.
