The veteran wideout suffered an SC joint separation last week and will miss at least a month.

The St. Louis Rams will be without leading wide receiver Danny Amendola Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Amendola had caught 32 passes for 395 yards and two touchdowns so far this season when he was injured during the first half of last week's game against Arizona. While it was originally thought that Amendola had broken his collarbone, the veteran wideout was later diagnosed with a separation of the SC joint, the joint connecting the collarbone and breastbone. He is expected to miss at least four weeks.

This is not the first time the Rams will be playing without Amendola, who missed almost all of last season with an elbow injury. As Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported, Jeff Fisher expects his team to respond with a group effort:

"It's like anything else," Fisher said. "Whenever you've got an injury, someone else has to step up. Often times, it's more than just one person. So we're expecting the entire group to step up, and that can include the tight ends as well. Guys will step in. There's flexibility at the receiver position to where we'll be able to interchange different guys at that spot."

The Rams will be looking to their second starting wide receiver, Brandon Gibson, to fill Amendola's role. Gibson has caught 13 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns so far this season. Beyond that, the Rams have a number of receivers to utilize, including veteran Steve Smith and second-year wideout Austin Pettis.
