The Arizona Cardinals' Beanie Wells had his biggest game ever against the St. Louis Rams last season, scoring one touchdown and chewing up 228 yards on the ground almost exactly a year ago. Now, in his first game back from a bad turf toe injury, Wells has gotten off to a different kind of hot start against those same Rams: He's got 10 carries for 32 yards and two touchdowns, running a vital support role in rookie quarterback Ryan Lindley's first career start.
So far the Cardinals' offense has stayed mostly grounded but remarkably effective: Lindley is 10-for-13 for 121 yards in addition to Wells's play on the ground. The only misstep led directly to the Rams' only touchdown--a pick-six interception on a great play from Rams rookie Janoris Jenkins.
Beanie Wells might not be the way the Cardinals are moving downfield this afternoon, but when they've needed a touchdown he's gotten the ball both times. We'll keep up with all the latest Cardinals-Rams news, score updates, and fantasy football analysis from SB Nation right here on this storystream, so stay tuned.
