Los Angeles Dodgers rumors grasp Kyle Lohse in their tentacles, because of course they do

In the least surprising news of the 2013 MLB offseason, word has gotten out that the Los Angeles Dodgers are interested in Kyle Lohse.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals are a match made in offseason rumors heaven going into their enormously expensive 2013 season. The Dodgers are trying to sign every last baseball player who is available to be overpaid, and the Cardinals have Kyle Lohse, an aging starter coming off the best season of his career. Inevitably, then, this happened:

Saxon's from ESPN Los Angeles, so he should know. But then, he could also just be methodically (or by some kind of AppleScript) be tweeting out "Source: Dodgers showing interest in $FREE-AGENT," because eventually the Dodgers will get to everyone on the list.

Lohse looked expensive at first, but free agent whispers have suggested hyper-inflated prices for guys like Anibal Sanchez that mean he could be a bargain if he's willing to go, say, three years instead of five. Of course, if the Dodgers have gotten involved the question is academic, because as he gets more expensive they get more psyched about signing him.

The Cardinals, meanwhile, have been basically out of the Lohse business since he declined their qualifying offer and earned them a draft pick on his way to free agency. As it turns out, that was probably the right move for both parties.
