The 2012 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Tournament has seen the field whittled down to just two teams, and on Saturday night No. 8 Creighton will take on No. 6 Southern Illinois in the championship game. The Bluejays defeated Illinois St. 10-3 on Thursday afternoon to advance to the final round, while the Salukis edged Missouri St. in a 10-inning thriller to join Creighton in the championship game.

Southern Illinois is now one win away from its first-ever MVC Tournament title and its first NCAA tournament berth since 1990. Meanwhile, Creighton swept its way through the first three games of the tournament, and a ticket to the 2012 NCAA Tournament is just one more win away.
