Cardinals Vs. Diamondbacks: Wednesday Start Time, TV Schedule And More

Stay connected for news and updates

The St. Louis Cardinals look to continue their winning ways on Wednesday night, as they host the Arizona Diamondbacks for the middle game of a three-game set.

On Tuesday, the Cardinals opened the homestand with an 8-2 win, behind a strong Joe Kelly start. On Wednesday, Mike Matheny will send ace Adam Wainwright to the hill.

Though he struggled in the first half of the season, Wainwright has been excellent since the All-Star Break, going 3-2 with a 2.32 ERA, while issuing just seven walks against 39 strikeouts in 42 and 2/3 innings. Wainwright has also surrendered just one home run in the second half as well, compared to 10 in over 102 innings in the first half.

St. Louis' offense will look to tee off on Joe Saunders, who carries a 3.52 ERA and 1.30 WHIP into the game. Saunders has been a much more effective pitcher away from Chase Field, however, as he owns a 2.44 ERA and .244 average against on the road.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. CT. Televised coverage can be found on FOX Sports Midwest.
