2012 Barclays Final Results: Nick Watney Finishes 10-Under, Wins Tournament

Nick Watney has won the 2012 Barclays tournament from Bethpage Black Course in New York with a 2-under 69 on Sunday. He finished 10-under for the tournament, three strokes ahead of runner-up Brandt Snedeker.

Watney entered Sunday trailing Sergio Garcia by two strokes, as he finished Saturday's round at even-par, while Garcia ended the day 2-under. However, Watney birdied six holes on Sunday, which helped offset four bogeys. Meanwhile, Garcia fell apart in the middle of the round, bogeying three out of four holes during the stretch from eight through 11. He also bogeyed on holes one and 18, and only had one birdie on the day.

Sunday's win was the sixth of Watney's PGA career, and likely the best to date. Meanwhile, a guy who has more wins than anyone on the tour completely imploded, as Tiger Woods shot 5-over on the day, and finished at plus-1 for the tournament.

Columbia, Mo. native Jeff Maggert struggled badly for the third consecutive day, as he shot a 5-over 76 on Sunday. Maggert finished the tournament at 9-over after shooting a 2-under 69 on Thursday.

Nick Watney and Sergio Garcia are tied atop the 2012 Barclays tournament leaderboard as Round 2 winds down on Friday afternoon at Bethpage Black Course in New York. Meanwhile, Columbia, Mo. native Jeff Maggert dropped down the board after shooting a 3-over 74.

Watney ended play on Thursday a shot back of Round 1 leader Padraig Harrington, but his 2-under 69, combined with Harrington's 4-over 75, catapulted him into the lead. Garcia finished the first round two shots back of the lead, and continued his solid play by shooting 3-under on Friday.

The best round of the day belonged to Henrik Stenson, who knocked in seven birdies on his way to a 6-under 65. 2012 Barclays: Back-To-Back Bogeys, Double Bogey Cost Jeff Maggert

With a two-under par performance in round one of the 2012 Barclays on Thursday, Missouri-native Jeff Maggert was in contention and tied for the No. 26 spot on the leaderboard. However, a terrible showing on three of the first four holes of the back nine caused Maggart to tumble considerably down the leaderboard.

With two birdies and a bogey on the front nine, Maggert's score was down to three-under par before back-to-back bogeys on holes 10 and 11 to start the back nine. After a par on 12, things got worse for Maggert as he struggled considerably on the 608-yard par-five hole 13, earning a double bogey.

While Maggert birdied hole 15, the damage had been done and he tumbled to a tie for the No. 59 spot on the leaderboard. With three holes to play in round two, Maggert is even on the tournament and seven strokes behind Padraig Harrington and Vijay Singh, who are tied for the tournament lead.

2012 Barclays: Padraig Harrington Looks To Hold Lead As Round 1 Ends

Missouri native Jeff Maggert is currently at 1-under for the day, good for a tie for 34th place at The Barclays. He currently has two holes remaining in his first round.

Many of the big names such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Luke Donald are all stuck in a tie for 14th place at 3-under as the first round nears it's end. They're all looking up at Irishman Padraig Harrington, who had a monster first round, shooting a 64 to put himself at 7-under.

Very few golfers at the tournament have that many holes left and most of the big names have already finished their rounds so it's unlikely that there will be much of a shakeup atop the leaderboard until Round 2 finally starts.
