One Year After Lokomotiv Crash, The Hockey World Is Still Stunned

Stay connected for news and updates

It’s the one year anniversary of the crash that took 44 lives and decimated the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv KHL hockey team. The Blues were unfortunate to lose two of their number 38s: Igor Korolev and Pavol Demitra. SB Nation St. Louis has re-published their Demitra retrospective, and ESPN’s Scott Burnside has written a tremendous Blues-centered piece that focuses on the loss of Demitra.

It’s important that we take a moment out of our day to not only remember those lost, but also their families, friends, and former teammates. The Blues are a better team for having Korolev and Demitra as part of their ranks, and the hockey world is lesser for having lost so many members of its family one year ago.
