Well, this trick in the NHL Super-Skills competition was certainly unexpected. After stoning the Chicago Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane on his first attempt, Brian Elliott had to deal with Kane donning a Superman cape and Clark Kent glasses and scoring a nifty sliding goal. Nothing, though, could prepare Elliott for this unexpected trick:
Kane fires the puck at Elliott, and it shatters into pieces. Needless to say, Elliott’s confused — he looks a bit like a dog staring at a ceiling fan there for a moment — but it doesn’t matter. He blocked every piece of the puck. That is how good Brian Elliott has been this season: it doesn’t matter if you fire puck shrapnel at him; it’s not going in.
