Blues Vs. Canucks Final Score: St. Louis Get Shutout In 2-0 Defeat

The St. Louis Blues managed to keep the Vancouver Canucks off the scoreboard for two periods, but they couldn't hold on in the third period of a 2-0 defeat on Thursday night. Playing on the road in a match-up of NHL elitse, the Blues weren't able to score against a stingy Canucks defense.

Despite getting 29 shots on goal, the Blues weren't able to get a single puck past Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo all night. The Canucks were having similar issues scoring for a while, but with the benefit of playing at home they managed to find a score early in the third period.

Vancouver's Alex Burrows scored the game-winning goal, the game's only goal, roughly four minutes into the third period. It was his 23rd goal of the season. The two sides battled it out until the end after that goal, with the Canucks sticking one more into the empty net with less than a minute remaining in the game.

It was a hard-fought loss for St. Louis on Thursday, but the Blues still are surely looking forward to future games against one of the major Eastern Conference contenders.
