KHL Coach Doesn't Think Blues Prospect Vladimir Tarasenko Is Ready For NHL

File this one into the "bitter, much?" category of coaching "advice." The Blues have recently signed prospect Vladimir Tarasenko to an entry level deal, and it's very much assumed that he'll be making the NHL team from camp. He wouldn't've agreed to come over if he were to be sent to the Rivermen. His KHL coach, however, assumes he knows better than NHL scouts. Via Kukla's Korner here's what coach Milos Riha had to say:

"It was his decision and his choice. To my mind, he has got ahead of himself a little bit," SKA St. Petersburg coach Riha said on the KHL website.

↵

"I think that he could play a couple more years in KHL and grew to maturity as a hockey player. I can only wish him luck."

SKA St. Petersburg has the reputation of being one of the top KHL teams, and with a quiet off-season, do you really think that they're thrilled about losing a guy who is a .76 point-per-game player? I always had a sneaking suspicion that Tarasenko wasn't allowed to play in the World Championships out of spite that he was probably going to sign with the Blues. This is a continuation of that.
