Cardinals Vs. Rangers Score: Blown Call Chases Matt Harrison, Cardinals Lead Game 3 5-1

The St. Louis Cardinals take advantage of a bad call at first base to put four runs on the board in the fourth inning. Game 3 of the 2011 World Series rolls on with the heart of the Texas Rangers' order coming up.

The St. Louis Cardinals turned a gift call at first base into four runs in the fourth inning of Game 3 of the 2011 World Series, when Matt Holliday, clearly out on a double play ball but called safe, scored on a David Freese hit and keyed a rally that was consummated by some legitimately bad Rangers defense moments later. Kinsler's poor throw to first base on the Holliday play got moonlighting catcher Mike Napoli into the air—though he managed to apply the sweep tag Holliday was called safe, and singles from Lance Berkman and David Freese drove him in.

A intentional walk to Yadier Molina turned the one-run mistake into a four-run nightmare. With the bases loaded Jon Jay grounded to a charging Napoli, who threw a splitter into the dirt to catcher Yorvit Torrealba. Two runs scored on the error, and Ryan Theriot, the next batter, singled down the third base line to drive in the fourth run of the inning. With two outs in the inning Matt Harrison's night was over, and Scott Feldman was called in to retire World Series threat Allen Craig

The Cardinals lead Game 3 5-0 with the heart of the order coming up for the Texas Rangers in the bottom of the fourth.
