Albert Pujols Was Slugging .000 In The World Series Before Saturday Night

Stay connected for news and updates

Now he's slugging 1.167 in the World Series. It was a good day to be the king of the St. Louis Cardinals.

He's slugging .818 in the postseason in 2011, and .630 for his postseason career. Those numbers were .633 and .589 before.

Friday night Albert Pujols wouldn't talk to reporters, and all Saturday the story from reporters was that he wasn't properly a team leader, because he wasn't talking to reporters. That may or may not be true, but I think the Cardinals will allow him to lead from behind so long as he continues to hit three home runs and drive in six RBI every time he does it.

Right now he's tied with Reggie Jackson and Babe Ruth as the only players ever to hit three home runs in a World Series game, but he's currently the all-time leader in home runs hit in Game 3 of the 2011 World Series. For the moment, that's what I'm thinking about. I mean, that and the all-time record thing. But whatever.
