Madden Cover Vote 2013: St. Louis Rams Pit Brandon Lloyd Against Chris Long, Everybody Cursed

The Madden 2013 cover vote is going to play out, this year, in a 64-man tournament featuring two players from every team. And as we wait for Tim Tebow to sweep his way to a controversial, pageview-generating victory, it's worth realizing that the St. Louis Rams were not even successful enough, last year, to spin off two players to compete in a pretend tournament. With the NFC West players revealed, we now know that Rams fans will be able to choose between Chris Long and... Brandon Lloyd. Today we are all cursed.

Seattle Seahawks fans get to rally around Marshawn Lynch and "Beast Mode," the 49ers will have Patrick Willis and Vernon Davis to choose from; even the Arizona Cardinals get two bona fide stars in Larry Fitzgerald and Patrick Peterson. No word as to where Josh McDaniels will be on the Brandon Lloyd cover.

This much is true: When we look back on Sam Bradford's ultra-successful Hall of Fame career, and his five Super Bowl rings, and his unilateral decision to bring back the Rams' much cooler blue-and-yellow jerseys, we'll remember this as the nadir of his career: When he couldn't beat a free agent onto 65th place in the Madden 2013 cover vote.
