Cardinals Vs. Cubs Final Score: Chicago Steals Another Win, This Time In 10 Innings

Stay connected for news and updates

The St. Louis Cardinals suffered another heart-breaker today at Wrigley Field. Up 2-1 in the ninth inning against the rival Cubs, Chicago first baseman Bryan LaHair hit a solo homer to send the game into extra innings. In the 10th, Alfonso Soriano ripped a shot at Tyler Greene that the Cardinals second baseman couldn't corral to score Tony Campana. And thus: Cubs win 3-2. St. Louis will look to avoid the sweep tomorrow at Wrigley.

St. Louis only scored in the eight inning. Down 1-0 and with shortstop Rafael Furcal on base, outfielder Matt Holliday blasted a two-run homer to put St. Louis on top.

Reliever Marc Rzepczynski would blow the win upon giving up the dinger to LaHair. Fernando Salas was given the loss after surroundering the game-winning hit to Soriano.
