Pirates Vs. Cardinals Preview: Adam Wainwright Looks For 1st Victory

The St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates start a three-game series on Tuesday.

The St. Louis Cardinals have won three of their last four games and will open a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates in Busch Stadium on Tuesday night. The Cardinals enter atop the N.L. Central with a 14-8 overall record. On Tuesday, they'll turn to 30-year old righty Adam Wainwright, who is still searching for his first victory of 2011.

Wainwright comes into the contest at 0-3 with a 7.32 ERA and 1.47 WHIP. His previous start, April 24 against the Chicago Cubs, was his best outing of the year, though he earned a no decision. Wainwright went six innings, allowing six hits and one earned run while striking out seven.

Pittsburgh is poised to send out 28-year old righty Charlie Morton. Morton is 1-1 with a 2.65 ERA and 1.24 WHIP.
