The St. Louis Cardinals will be looking to avoid their longest losing streak of the season as they host the series opener against the Chicago Cubs on Monday night. After being swept by the Atlanta Braves, the Cardinals' three-game losing streak is tied for the team's longest of the season.

Jake Westbrook will be making his seventh start of the season for St. Louis. He's coming off his best start of the season, during which he pitched seven shutout innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks while striking out a season-high eight batters.

The Cards will be facing the Cubs' Ryan Dempster, who is pitching extremely well this season despite having zero wins. In five starts, Dempster has a 1.05 ERA but Chicago hasn't won a single one of the games that he's appeared in.

Game Date & Time: Monday, May 14, 6:00 p.m. CST
