The St. Louis Cardinals dropped back down to .500 after falling 6-1 in the series opener against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium. The win moves Chicago to 34-27, while St. Louis, which has now lost three of its last four games, falls to 31-31.
St. Louis starter Adam Wainwright allowed only five hits and two earned runs while striking out seven over seven innings, but the 30-year old righty goes down as the hard-luck loser. Wainwright's overall record falls to 5-7 with the loss.
