Cardinals Vs. Rockies Preview: Cards Look To Keep Pace In Central

Stay connected for news and updates

The St. Louis Cardinals still have a bit of an uphill climb towards the playoffs, and they can make things easier on themselves by beating up on lowly teams like the Colorado Rockies, who have the second worst record in the National League. St. Louis got off to a good start on Tuesday, beating the Rockies 11-6, and they'll try and keep that momentum going on Wednesday.

They'll be led by starter Jake Westbrook, who hopes his ground ball tendencies will serve him well in the thin air of Coors Field. Westbrook has only made one career start in Denver, giving up three earned runs in six innings. Opposing him will be Rockies starter Drew Pomeranz who has had an up-and-down season so far this year, posting a 4.99 ERA in 10 starts.

Game date/time: Wednesday, August 1, 7:40 p.m. CT

Location: Coors Field, Denver, Colo.

TV: FSN Midwest
