Yadier Molina Injury: Cardinals Catcher Has Sprained Right Thumb, Will Have X-Rays Friday

St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is out of the team's lineup on Thursday because of a sprained right thumb; the injury apparently happened on a slide into first base on Wednesday.

Molina is hitting .310/.359/.506 with 16 home runs and 52 RBI this season.

Tony Cruz will handle the catching in Molina's place as the Cardinals go for a sweep of the Rockies in Colorado on Thursday night.
