The Seattle Seahawks ending the first quarter on the Rams 12 but were unable to score a touchdown, with quarterback Matt Hasselbeck forced to scramble on third-and-five. Kicker Olindo Mare made the 22 yard field goal from the Rams 4 to put the Seahawks on the board, 7-3.
Until the red zone the Seahawks had marched downfield free and clear; Justin Forsett rushed for 35 yards on seven carries.
