With starter Steven Jackson nursing a strained groin (but "walking around pretty cool") the St. Louis Rams made a small step toward adding depth at running back Tuesday, signing Chauncey Washington from the New York Jets’ Practice Squad.
Turf Show Times has some early analysis; VanRam thinks he could replace Keith Toston. Now 25 years old, Washington was a seventh round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2008 out of USC. Since then he’s bounced to the Dallas Cowboys and then the Jets.
