Week 10 NFL Power Rankings: St. Louis Rams Fall To No. 31

After a crushing overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals (2-6), the St. Louis Rams (1-7) have fallen back to their status as worst in the NFC.

Despite facing the lowly Arizona Cardinals (2-6) and backup quarterback John Skelton, Sam Bradford and the St. Louis Rams (1-7) couldn't seal the deal to earn a victory for the second straight week. The game was extremely close, as Calais Campbell blocked a 42-yard Rams field-goal attempt to force overtime, but Cardinals rookie cornerback Patrick Peterson stunned the Rams with a 99-yard punt return for a touchdown to win the game 19-13.

Losing to a bad team starting an unknown and unproven career backup at quarterback isn't exactly something that makes a good impression on anyone, and SB Nation's Joel Thorman is blunt about the implications of the loss in this week's NFL Power Rankings:

31. St. Louis Rams (1-7, LW: 27): At this point, it's all about draft position.

It's a sad thought, and Rams fans are understandably upset at how flat the team has looked on a weekly basis. To be honest, the Rams probably deserve to be listed as the worst team in the NFC, considering the Seattle Seahawks (2-6) are next lowest at No. 29, followed by the Arizona Cardinals (2-6) at No. 28.
