2011 NFL Mock Draft: Some O.J. Atogwe Replacements

Stay connected for news and updates

With Julio Jones's prospects of slipping to number 14 looking ever dimmer, it might be worth looking, in this week's 2011 NFL Mock Draft, at players who could replace newly departed St. Louis Rams stalwart safety O.J. Atogwe, who signed a five-year deal with the Washington Redksins on Thursday. "Freak athlete" Patrick Peterson is arguably the top draft prospect in the defensive backfield, but Rahim Moore out of UCLA, the top safety in the draft, is an early second-rounder in the latest WalterFootball.com mock draft.

It's looking increasingly like the Rams will have to consider second-round type wide receivers like Jonathan Baldwin and Leonard Hankerson with Julio Jones ending most of the world's wars during the NFL Combine, but with Atogwe gone for good the real Rams have one more problem to solve in 2011 NFL Mock Drafts, and the opening safety will now become a part of both real and mock draft boards everywhere until April 28. I don't envy real or fake Rams GMs at this point in time.
