2011 NFL Draft: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Select St. Louis Native Adrian Clayborn

St. Louis native Adrian Clayborn is the latest defensive lineman to walk the stage at the 2011 NFL Draft, going 20th overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a fine career with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Clayborn had 11 sacks in 2009 and found himself named the MVP of the 2010 Orange Bowl.

Clayborn was born with Erb’s Palsy, a serious nerve condition that makes him one of the more unlikely players to emerge in the first round of the NFL Draft; he’ll never have full range-of-motion or strength in his right arm, but he’s managed to overcome that to become one of the most decorated college defensive players on the board.

He’s a great story and a great prospect, and the Tampa Bay fans at Bucs Nation seem satisfied so far. For a full recap of the 2011 NFL Draft to date, follow along here at SB Nation St. Louis, and for more draft coverage check out SB Nation’s NFL Draft hub.
