2011 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints Pick Cameron Jordan 24th

The New Orleans Saints might have gotten one of the biggest bargains in the 2011 NFL Draft, selecting defensive end Cameron Jordan with the 24th pick in the first round. Jordan was the primary victim of the run on quarterbacks in the Top 10, causing defensive ends as popular as Robert Quinn to fall deep into the first round. Jordan is a strong physical specimen and a potentially dangerous pass rusher, but SB Nation DC worries about his ability to make space in the NFL, and the possibility that he might be a “tweener”, unable to fit in a 3/4 or 4/3 scheme at his best.

Those worries kept him from being a possible Top 10 pick, but for a team like the New Orleans Saints he could be a serious coup and a major defensive upgrade. At his worst—well, he could be like a 24th pick in the first round.
