How Torrey Smith Excited Baltimore Ravens Fans, Torched The Rams

Unless you were a St. Louis Rams fan or a Lee Evans fantasy football owner you were probably impressed by Torrey Smith's incredible debut for the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3. On three first-quarter receptions Smith connected with Joe Flacco for three touchdowns, 133 yards, and one Edward Jones Dome-ful of broken spirits; at The Score, via Turf Show Times, there's a video breakdown of Smith's performance that's worth watching if you've been able to get it out of your mind already.

I think the first touchdown is the most brutal—Torrey Smith just running a go route and burning Justin King like the Ravens decided to use James Jett in Madden 94. After that it's just incompetence and solid play from Smith, but that first one just makes it seem like the Rams never had a chance at all.

As for Torrey Smith the fantasy football option, it looks like Lee Smith is questionable for Week 4—and even if he does play, the Ravens and Joe Flacco are unlikely to forget what they got out of breaking glass and removing Torrey Smith ahead of Week 3.
