Prior to the 2009 season, a whopping 11 new head coaches were hired by NFL teams. As of Jan. 2, 2012, only three of those 11 are still in place, with St. Louis Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Raheem Morris the latest two to go. Two of the remaining three— Rex Ryan of the New York Jets and Jim Schwartz of the Detroit Lions— figure to be cemented in their positions for the time being, but they may be the only two left standing if the third, Jim Caldwell of the Indianapolis Colts, gets released this off season.
Here is the full list of coaching hires for the 2009 season as well as who, if anyone, each coach has been replaced by.
