Stay connected for news and updates

St. Louis Rams front office will not hold current Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels to his current contract and will allow him to leave if he'd like to, SI.com's Peter King reported Friday via Twitter. King's report came shortly after Bryan Burwell of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the New England Patriots reached out to the Rams to talk with McDaniels.

Latest news on the Rams search for a new head coach and General Manager.

McDaniels, who was allowed to keep his job after the firing of Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo, served as the Patriots OC from 2006-08 and could replace current Patriots' OC, Bill O'Brien, who's in the process of becoming the new head coach of Penn State University.
