The St. Louis Rams have now allowed 17 straight points and find themselves trailing 17-6 heading into the fourth quarter of Sunday's game.
The St. Louis Rams were ahead 6-0 in their game against the Miami Dolphins, but Miami has since reeled off 17 unanswered points and they lead 17-6 going into the final quarter.
Miami scored the third quarter's only points on its first drive of the period. A 14-yard pass from Ryan Tannehill to Reggie Bush on third down put the ball at the St. Louis 1-yard line, where Tannehill found Anthony Fasano for the touchdown. Dan Carpenter sunk the extra point and Miami's defense stayed strong through the rest of the quarter to make sure the lead held up.
On the day, Tannehill is 19-26 for 169 yards passing.
The Dolphins' defensive effort was highlighted by Cameron Wake's sack of Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, leading to a fumble.
The Rams had the ball hoping to score again in the final minutes of the quarter, but was unable to get much farther than midfield before having to punt the ball away.
