Rams vs. 49ers score update: Steven Jackson, Greg Zuerlein make it a 17-7 Rams lead entering the 4th quarter

Thearon W. Henderson

The St. Louis Rams got some vintage performances from Steven Jackson and a chip-shot from Grge Zuerlein to push their lead over the San Francisco 49ers to 17-7 entering the fourth quarter.

The St. Louis Rams have ridden Steven Jackson's best performance of the season to an unlikely Week 10 lead against the San Francisco 49ers, but while he's got 20 carries for 71 yards and a touchdown on the ground, it's his one reception of the afternoon that set up Greg Zuerlein's first field goal to make the score 17-7 in the fourth quarter.

Jackson, with the Rams' offense sputtering, carried multiple 49ers across the first-down line, losing his helmet in the process and gaining 14 yards. He wasn't able to drive them all the way into the end zone, but he got them far enough that Zuerlein could hit an automatic 27-yard field goal.

Sam Bradford's played well enough so far—he's 12-for-20 with 149 yards and a touchdown—but he'll need to find a way to revive the passing game's big-play ability if the Rams are going to be able to put the 49ers away here, even with Alex Smith out of the game. The Rams' defense has been great, but they need another touchdown here in the fourth.
