2012 NFL Draft Order: Rams Hold Five Picks In Top 100 And Eight Overall

The St. Louis Rams made the blockbuster deal of the 2012 NFL Draft scouting phase when convinced the Washington Redskins to give up their No. 6 overall pick, two future first-round picks and a second-round pick in exchange for the Rams' No. 2 overall pick (which means the de facto rights to Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III), and now St. Louis holds five picks in the top 100 overall selections of April's draft. For a team with a new head coach (Jeff Fisher), a new GM (Les Snead) and plenty of holes to fill after a disastrous 2-14 season, high picks are the best way to build a solid foundation for the future.

the Rams own three picks in the top 50 selections -- No. 6, No. 33 and No. 39 -- and add in the No. 65 pick and No. 96 pick to make it five in the first 100 selections. In a bit of a quirk, they alternate picks at the top of each round with the Indianapolis Colts because they tied them for worst record in the NFL. To see where they select in each round of the 2012 NFL Draft, check out the full list of picks below:

Round 1, Pick No. 6, No. 6 Overall (from Washington)

Round 2, Pick No. 1, No. 33 Overall

Round 2, Pick No. 7, No. 39 Overall (from Washington)

Round 3, Pick No. 2, No. 65 Overall

Round 4, Pick No. 1, No. 96 Overall

Round 6, Pick No. 1, No. 171 Overall

Round 7, Pick No. 2, No. 209 Overall

Round 7, Pick No. 45, No. 252 Overall (Compensatory Selection)
