Nike NFL Uniforms 2012: New Jerseys Excite People, For Some Reason

Stay connected for news and updates

I don't know how this happened, but the Great New Nike NFL Uniform Unveiling of 2012 has turned into a massive news story despite nearly every franchise's duds looking indistinguishable from the ones they had before. For our part, as St. Louis Rams fans and analysts, we've covered what's actually different in the Rams' new uniforms, but the most interesting thing to most people seems to be what hasn't changed: The Rams haven't taken this opportunity to admit their mistake and go back to the royal-and-yellow jerseys that define their only dynasty to date, those 1999 Greatest Show on Turfers.

In the meantime, all we have is the ability to make fun of their new, incredibly goofy cleats and their weird gloves and v-necks. Which is something, to be sure—I can never get enough making fun of goofy sports uniforms—but not quite as much, perhaps, as we were hoping for back when the NFL's switch from Nike to Reebok was first announced.

For even more coverage of the Rams' nearly identical new jerseys, check out our storystream on the subject.
