NFL Free Agency 2012: Albert Haynesworth Still Being Linked To St. Louis Rams

Back in February, Albert Haynesworth was linked to the St. Louis Rams as a possible free agent signing to shore up the defensive tackle rotation. It made plenty of sense at the time -- considering Haynesworth's best years came with Jeff Fisher as his head coach -- but since February the Rams selected LSU's Michael Brockers in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft and signed Kendall Langford to a four-year, $24 million deal.

Surprisingly, the Haynesworth rumors are still going strong. On Tuesday, Jason La Canfora CBS Sports suggested the Rams may still be considering Haynesworth as an option on the defensive line. Back in March, Haynesworth told ESPN's Josina Anderson that he still wants to play in the NFL and that he's ready to prove he's the best player defensive tackle in football.

"Yeah of course. I still love the game of football. If you can get in the right situation, it would be good for any team and for me. I'm just looking to get back on top and to be the best defensive tackle in football."
