St. Louis Rams' Outside Linebacker Spots Likely Up For Grabs

The St. Louis Rams have worked hard to reshape their team on-the-fly for 2012, and outside linebacker is one spot that has seen the most turnover. Free agent signings like Rocky McIntosh, Jo-Lonn Dunbar, and Mario Haggan could be the answer, but Mike Sando of ESPN points out that the Rams are left without any OLBs that have started a game for the team before. In fact, among the list of starting linebackers for the Rams from 2009-2011 only James Laurinaitis remains on the roster.

When McIntosh signed with the Rams in June, he is someone head coach Jeff Fisher said will be in the mix for a starting spot. One thing McIntosh brings is some starting experience, as he previously played for the Washington Redskins OLB and has recorded 324 tackles, 143 assists, three interceptions, eight sacks and eight forced fumbles over six NFL seasons.
