The St. Louis Rams open their preseason schedule Sunday vs. the Indianapolis Colts, who in what promises to be a bittersweet-feeling-maker for Sam Bradford have their own savior quarterback to debut for a few snaps at Lucas Oil Stadium: Andrew Luck is here, and he's—well, probably not as good as Peyton Manning, but he might be, eventually, inasmuch as it's possible to project a guy turning into the Best Quarterback of All Time. Anyway: Turf Show Times broke the news—the game's a sellout.
Who knew Rams fans traveled so well?
In all seriousness, this is nearly as exciting an era-opener for the Rams as it is the Colts; Jeff Fisher isn't Andrew Luck, and neither is Sam Bradford, anymore, but the two of them together make for a team that has actual expectations again, and a real means for achieving them.
At least, they make for that right now; I probably said the same thing at this moment last season, when Josh McDaniels was the big coaching hire. Coaching-derived good feelings are even shorter-lasting than quarterback-of-the-future vibes.
