So far it's clear the St. Louis Rams have gotten their money's worth with Cortland Finnegan. The free-agent cornerback picked off Jay Cutler at the end of the first quarter vs. the Chicago Bears on Sunday, his third interception in three games, and ran it back over midfield before a series of almost-fumbles that the replacement referees found... overly difficult to comprehend. (After a challlenge, the replacement refs agreed that it was "St. Louie" ball.)
For Jay Cutler, it's the struggling quarterback's sixth interception in three games, and it stopped dead all the momentum the Bears had built up in a long offensive drive that starred Michael Bush, whom the Rams have been unable to stop so far. (They trail by a score of 3-0 at the end of the first quarter.)
Through three weeks it's clear that the Rams' run defense is a weakness. But if their pass defense continues to be this strong, I'm not sure anybody's going to notice.
