After 15 minutes at Ford Field, the St. Louis Rams hold a 3-0 lead over the Detroit Lions. Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense were driving down the field to open the game, but Janoris Jenkins picked him off on the three-yard line to bring an abrupt end to the scoring threat. Jenkins took it down the left sideline and got the ball out to the 34-yard line, where he handed it over to the offense.
The offense managed to take it into Detroit territory but the drive stalled out around the 30-yard line. Quarterback Sam Bradford looked good on the Rams first offensive possession, hitting four of five attempts and moving the ball on the 10-play drive. Rookie kicker Greg Zuerlein came on and snuck it inside the right upright to give St. Louis the 3-0 lead.
The quarter ended with the Lions driving towards midfield on their second possession of the game.
