Jaden Schwartz Joins Team Canada For World Junior Championships

Jaden Schwartz, whom the St. Louis Blues selected with the 14th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, will represent Team Canada when hockey's World Junior Championships begin this Dec. 26. According to a team press release, Schwartz has compiled 26 points in 17 games at Colorado College this season. Prior to that, the 18-year-old center led the United States Hockey League with 83 points in 60 games last season. Going further back, the Melfort, Saskatchewan native tallied 111 points in 44 games for the Midget AAA league during the 2007/08 campaign.

As Brad Lee from St. Louis Game Time, SB Nation's Blues blog, noted at the time, the Blues' pick of Schwartz came as a huge surprise; NHL's Central Scouting ranked him as the 28th-best prospect in the Draft, yet the Blues used the 14th selection on him.
