Chris Carpenter In Toronto

I'm sure there's some kind of grudging respect for Chris Carpenter in Toronto, but I can't imagine there's a lot of actual goodwill for their former first rounder up there. How different a player did he become in St. Louis? The difference between his ERA as a Blue Jay and as a Cardinal is only fractionally lower than his actual ERA in 2009—4.83 to 2.90. He cut down on 1.5 walks per nine inning and added half a strikeout; he did that after missing a year and a half and twice putting up an ERA over 5.25.

Now The New Chris Carpenter, who's been playing now for six years, gets to play against the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre. Sorry, guys.
