The Good News: Matt Holliday Still Hates Being Traded

There is this, after all the bullpen meltdowns and odd roster decisions leave you gasping for Cardinals-related air: Matt Holliday, who previously leveraged his series with Oakland into a stint as NL Player of the Week, is still hitting like a man possessed, or at least a man really pissed off about being traded from one team to another.

After his 8-12, four home run performance against the Athletics, he's gone 5-9 with three home runs and five RBI in Colorado, taking his combined line to .619 with a slugging percentage of 1.048. This phenomenon is, undoubtedly, the reason the Cardinals signed him to such a long term deal. It also explains that clause about being able to opt out after year five so long as he plays in Japan...
