So Brandon Phillips called the Cardinals little bitches, and Tony La Russa reminded him that most of his teammates were once themselves little bitches, and here we are in August with a division race that is suddenly full of all the acrimony the Cardinals have previously gotten with the Mets or the Astros or the Cubs. Which is great, if you like that sort of thing.
↵But I'm glad that four Post-Dispatch writers out of five don't believe it will make the path to first place any easier for the Cardinals. Bulletin board material is great, but the Cincinnati Reds are in first place in the NL Central—if the Cardinals need any additional motivation to sweep them Tony La Russa just isn't doing his job.
↵Wait—maybe if I call Tony La Russa a little bitch he'll be more motivated; then he can motivate the team so that they don't have to be called little bitches. I'll do some research.
