NFL Preseason: St. Louis Rams, Sam Bradford Hang On To Beat Patriots 36-35

Sam Bradford’s first start may have come as the result of an injury to A.J. Feeley, but he very quickly made it his own—the St. Louis Rams’ No. 1 overall pick threw 15-for-22 completions for 189 yards and two touchdowns in a sterling performance against the New England Patriots, who the Rams held on to beat 36-35.

Bradford took center stage, but it was a group effort for the Rams, who got receptions from 11 players, including rookie tight end Michael Hoomanawanui, who caught both of Bradford’s touchdown passes.

Steven Jackson, still on a light preseason schedule, had five carries for 22 yards. Josh Brown went 3-for-3 on field goals, including the game winner.
