St. Louis Blues Draft: Prospective Donor Found For Jaden Schwartz's Sister

As St. Louis Game Time reported, a prospective stem cell match has been found for Blues first rounder Jaden Schwartz’s sister, Mandi, who has acute myeloid leukemia.

The 22-year-old center for the [Yale] Bulldogs is battling acute myeloid leukemia and at the stage of the fight she’s in, Schwartz is in need of a stem-cell transplant to survive.

At this moment in her fight, however, Schwartz is currently in a Seattle hospital preparing for a cord blood transplant that will take place on Aug. 26. The cord blood match comes from a baby that shares a birthday with Schwartz. Over the past two years, Yale has held bone-marrow drives and tested over 1,600 people to help find a match for Mandi and other patients in need of transplants.
